With over 25 years of experience in marketing solution architecture and data science, Joel Wilson founded Matchbox.io in 2017 in order to create innovative apps for smart speakers. In just a few short years since its founding, Matchbox.io has won multiple industry awards including "Voice Developer of the Year" and "Game Developer of the Year," expanded its team to include two Alexa Champions, and is now a recognized leader in voice-first applications on Amazon Alexa, Google Home Assistant, and Samsung Bixby.
Joel's previous experiences include leading teams of data and solutions architects at KnowledgeBase Marketing Group, Merkle Inc, Election Data Services, and the Arizona House of Representatives.
A self-described "data nerd," Joel has degrees in political science and philosophy. In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking, playing jazz bass, and putting to use the chef skills he learned at L'Academie de Cuisine.
