Matchbox.io Chief Content Officer Sarah Andrew Wilson and Senior Software Engineer Ilarna Nche were recently featured on the second episode of VOICE Talks, presented by Google Assistant. At Google's invitation, the team discussed "Best Practices in Building a Voice-First Experience" during a live event in which thousands of viewers around the world participated in real time.

The event included a powerful lineup of women who Google described as "voice technology innovators, experts and influencers from Google, Tile, and Matchbox.io."

Building on the inaugural episode that brought in more than 13,000 subscribers from 106 countries, the second VOICE Talks episode took viewers behind-the-scenes with Google Assistant team members Lilian Rincon, Senior Director of Product and Meryl Stone, Head of Consumer Partnerships. Also joining the program were Leslie Garcia-Amaya, Global Product Partnerships, Google Assistant and Jossie Haines, Senior Director for Platform Engineering at Tile.

In their discussion, Matchbox.io team members Wilson and Nche focused on best practices and lessons learned in three main areas:

1) Consider key questions before building a voice experience, such as "What are you trying to achieve with a voice experience?" and "Is there a need or a want in the marketplace for your idea?"

2) Combine high quality content with high quality execution.

3) Capture data and make data-based decisions.
